Care home funding gap hits £2.36bn in 2025/26

It’s not just home care.

Care England says every council-funded care home place in England is £10,000+ a year short. Nursing beds: £23,000+.

The gap hit £2.36bn in 2025/26. Up 49% since 2022/23.

Providers can’t absorb that forever.
