In 20 years, Claude and ChatGPT will look like Ask Jeeves.

Becoming obsolete is almost guaranteed.

But that's not a reason to wait until you implement AI and automation in your business.

It's actually the opposite.

I found that AI adoption isn't about picking the right tool - we’ve tried more AI tools in our business than I can count.

If you want your business to continue growing and increase its value, then you want a business that can keep adapting, whatever comes next.

Remember Ask Jeeves?

Its latest incarnation was called Ask, which closed down earlier this year. But for a moment, it was revolutionary. A search engine you could ask questions in plain English, before Google ate it for breakfast.

Then the world moved on. Quickly.

The businesses that won that era didn't win by agonising over the perfect search engine.

They won by building momentum through adopting early and adapting fast.

The business owners who were slow to bring the internet into their businesses back then, didn't lose to the technology. They lost to competitors who used it.

The same pattern is playing out with AI right now.

And AI in business is far more than playing around with ChatGPT.

It's quoting that goes out the same day. Reporting that doesn't need chasing. Decisions that don't all route through you.

Used properly, it's one of the fastest ways to remove yourself from the daily slog.

Every tool you adopt today will eventually look old hat. That's fine. Tools are temporary.

The capability to keep adopting is what compounds - into a business that grows without you, and is worth more when you step back.

Ask Jeeves ran out of time. You haven't. Yet.

So look at your business and answer honestly:

Is it built to adopt what's next - or is it waiting for you to find the time?
