Two of the UK’s best known names in property - Berkeley Group and Rightmove - are to be ejected from the FTSE 100.

A small observation - as a specialist in brownfield development, you'd think that Berkeley should be thriving right now, given the government's pledge to create 1.5M new homes this parliament.

But we are way off track on that.

It’s not just NI changes having an impact. New schemes are facing an uphill struggle to even get approved. Southwark council just blocked Berkeley's proposal to build 867 new homes in Peckham.

While there are plenty of winners in construction - when it comes to building enough new homes - the system is still working against the industry.
