An Exit Strategy Doesn’t Mean You’re Selling…

“I don’t need an exit strategy because I’m not looking to exit.”

I always get confused when I hear business owners tell me this.

Because every business owner exits their business eventually – one way or the other. It’s a fact of life.

But THE biggest reason for having an exit strategy is to create the most valuable company you can – even if you have no imminent plans to exit your business.

But how does an exit strategy impact your company value?

The value in your business is not about what you think.

It’s about how the market values your business. Ultimately, a potential acquirer will pay what it’s worth to THEM – not what some spreadsheet says it’s worth.

And it’s not just about your revenue and profits.

If you don’t know what a potential buyer values most in your business, how will you know where to concentrate your investments over the next few years?
